Thomas De Seno, Esq. attended undergraduate school at Monmouth University where he received a baccalaureate degree in Political Science in 1987. He attended Widener University School of Law where he received a Juris Doctorate degree in 1990.
He became a member of the New Jersey and Federal District Court bars in 1990.
He was appointed to the prestigious position as law clerk to the Honorable Arthur Blake, JSC, Monmouth County, 1990 -1991, where he assisted the Court with civil jury trials.
Thereafter he embarked on a career in civil jury trials, the first part of his career being employed by insurance companies to defend personal injury cases. He rose to the rank of Senior Defense Counsel in New Jersey for an international insurer. He concentrated on automobile accidents, premises liability, fall downs and construction accidents. The cases he handled were civil suits in 19 of New Jersey’s 21 counties, including jury trials on behalf of the defense.
In 1998 he switched to plaintiff’s personal injury work in private practice. The work he originally did for insurance companies gave him a unique insight into how insurance companies work, to better maximize settlements and verdicts on behalf of his injured clients.
He has over 25 years of experience in personal injuries jury trials and some of his sample verdicts and settlements are listed on this website.
He also handles workers compensation cases for injured employees. He prosecutes defamation (libel and slander) cases, having conducted the first litigated defamation case in New Jersey on behalf of a public official who was defamed on the Internet. Other injured parties he represents include those who suffered workplace torts like discrimination and hostile work environment.
His work includes criminal cases of indictable offenses, DUI and traffic court. In addition thereto, he does estate planning including Wills, Living Wills and Power of Attorney.
Personally, he is a married father of 4 with two children in college, one in the Navy and another in High School. His other interests include coaching youth baseball and football.
